When you enter Pendulo, you enter into a narrative. You are welcomed by the substantial clay pendulum adorned with Aztec and Indian patterns. Nearby, you can sniff at the exotic jars along the spice bar. Everything that surrounds you is soft music, agave-shaped lamps, low light, copper accents, and coziness. Pendulo is not pretentious in its design, but warm, thoughtful, and humorous enough to partake in a pre-culinary voyage to invite you in before you have even tasted anything.

From there, it proceeds through an unrestrained series of dishes like mutton-birria tacos, charred elotes kissed with Indian lime, chipotle-garlic garnished applewood smoked lobster, and Monsoon over Sonoran grain chips with a salsa. Each dish is built to contrast the two cultures without being a sloppy, flavorless hybrid.
