James Bond Drink
Shaken, Not Stirred
The James Bond Vesper martini is unique in that it incorporates gin and vodka as well as Kina Lillet (commonly substituted with Lillet Blanc or dry vermouth). It's a potent blend, and Fleming (er, Bond) is picky about two ingredients: Kina Lillet is no longer available, and gin has evolved dramatically since the 1950s, so the original recipe would need to be tweaked.
When it comes to drink shaking vs. stirring, one can't help but think of James Bond's iconic line, "shaken, not stirred." It first appeared in Fleming's novel "Diamonds Are Forever," published in 1956. Throughout the books, Bond drank a lot of gin and vodka martinis, and shaken cocktails appeared to be his favourite. To stop too much dilution, the general bartending "norm" is to stir liquor-only drinks.

This recipe is well-known among James Bond fans as the first martini Bond ordered in Ian Fleming's 1953 novel "Casino Royale" (or the 2006 movie). It is perhaps the most popular drink order in history, and it is incredibly detailed. It is named after the seductive double agent Vesper Lynd. The Vesper martini is simple to make at home, but it does take some explanation.
James Bond Drink Order
This is a completely made-up cocktail. The "James Bond martini" was invented by the author in his first novel about the now-famous British Secret Intelligence Service spy, and it is also known as the "Bond martini". Bond is a big fan of excellent cocktails, as any fan of the books or movies knows, and this was far from the last one in the sequence. The Vesper was only mentioned once, and the vodka and gin martinis were served even more often as the series progressed.
