Cocktails Negroni
The Negroni is a famous Italian cocktail, consisting of one portion of gin, one portion of rosso vermouth (red, semi-sweet), and one portion of Campari, garnished with orange peel. It is considered as an apéritif.
In an old-fashioned or rocky glass, a traditionally made Negroni is mixed, not shaken, and built over ice and garnished with a slice of orange. An orange peel is however preferred outside of Italy in place of an orange slice.

Negroni Origins
The Negroni, a cocktail hailed for its simplicity and a tantalizing touch of bitterness, boasts a rich history that traces back to the early 20th century in Florence, Italy. The ingenious Italian Count Camillo Negroni is credited with the cocktail's invention, a bold move made at Bar Casoni. Seeking to fortify his favored Americano, the Count urged the bartender to replace the customary soda water with gin. In a further stroke of innovation, an orange peel was introduced, a departure from the conventional lemon peel.
History Negroni
This intriguing narrative is widely embraced and meticulously chronicled in "Sulle Tracce del Conte: La Vera Storia del Cocktail Negroni" by Lucca Picchi, the esteemed head bartender at Caffe Rivoire in Florence. Translated as "In the Footsteps of the Count: The True Story of the Negroni Cocktail," the book cements the Negroni's status as a classic, standing shoulder to shoulder with iconic drinks like the Martini and Manhattan.
The Count's daring substitution birthed not just a cocktail but a legend. The Negroni, renowned for its stirred preparation, has become a cornerstone of mixology, inspiring countless variations over its century-long journey. Today, this bitter elixir is not merely a drink; it's a symbol of experimentation, with myriad iterations gracing the menus of restaurants and cocktail bars worldwide. The Negroni's legacy is not just in its enduring originality but in its ability to incite a century of frenzied mixological exploration.
