Gaijin
This November, Gaijin in Bandra drops the stylus on Wednesdays at Gaijin: Off The Record, a new vinyl-led music series that brings together food, cocktails, and sound in one beautifully analog experience. Conceptualized by Chef Anand Morwani, Rohan Mangalorkar, and Karan Gaba, the series builds on Gaijin's long-standing love affair with vinyl, transforming the restaurant into a space where listening becomes a ritual, not background noise.

The Concept and Experience
Off The Record celebrates the tactile, soulful experience of vinyl listening in a world that’s gone digital. The series reimagines Gaijin as a sanctuary for sound, where music is not just heard but felt — every pop, hiss, and groove given its moment. The restaurant’s signature vinyl-led listening station, Gaijin Radio, powered by a rare Donley sound system, anchors this philosophy. The handcrafted setup turns listening into a shared ritual, reminding both audiophiles and casual listeners why analog warmth still matters.

The Debut Edition: DJ Kohra Takes the Decks
The debut edition features DJ Kohra, Goa-based producer, DJ, and founder of QillaRecords, known for crafting hypnotic, genre-defying soundscapes that move seamlessly through ambient, acid, trance, and jungle. For this special set, he'll be spinning straight from his personal vinyl vault, offering a rare peek into his private collection and the sonic world he's built over the years. As vinyl culture quietly reemerges, Off The Record invites audiences to slow down — to pause between notes, and to connect deeply with sound.

The Alleyway Vibe and Cocktail Collaboration
Beyond the main room, Gaijin's alleyway comes alive in a wash of neon and nostalgia. Think Tokyo's backstreets: Rakugaki graffiti, Kawaii doodles, film posters, and flashes of Nihonga art, all circling a brand-new outdoor bar where conversations hum and cocktails flow. Here, Diageo takes over the evening's pour, pairing the city's best beats with equally inventive drinks.
Gaijin Signature Drinks
Sip on Soft Launch, a delicate swirl of Mahura, bitter rosso, cherry blossom, shio koji, chamomile, and Peychaud's bitters, or dive into Midnight in Roppongi, where shiso-infused whisky meets apricot liqueur and an acid twist. Other highlights include Gari & The Grape (a tequila-sake number that's both fresh and nostalgic), Gaijin G&T (a citrus-forward remix on the classic, with in-house tonic and sweet lime air), Shinjuku Suite (a gin-based ode to Tokyo's nightlife), and Gochu Gang, a bold vodka-mirin concoction with a signature Gochujang kick.

Vinyl Dining Experience Mumbai
In a city that rarely slows down, Off The Record is an invitation to step off the fast track and tune into the moment. To swap streams for spins. To feel the stylus drop and time loosen its grip. At Gaijin, listening becomes something shared — a conversation between sound, food, and feeling. A reminder that sometimes, the best way to move forward is to go a little analog.
