Mimosas are the ideal champagne cocktail for adding a festive touch to any event that calls for sparkling. They are frothy and fizzy, light and bright.

What champagne should be used in mimosas?

Is champagne a wine ? (YES!)

Choose a sparkling wine from France, Spain, or Italy that is dry or semi-dry. A Spanish Cava or an Italian Prosecco are also excellent options. Mimosas are more drinkable thanks to the drier wine, which balances out the sweetness of the juices. Choose a dry Brut if you truly want to show off and please with champagne.

Use a pulp-free, high-quality orange juice that is smooth and chilled for the tastiest mimosas. Fresh orange juice is preferable, but a decent store-brand orange juice is also fine.

Cocktail With Recipe

A mimosa is easy to make because it only calls for two ingredients: chilled sparkling wine and orange juice. There's no need for ice in this cocktail. In fact, you should avoid using it for the finest results since it can dilute and flatten the wine's carbonation. Chill the wine and orange juice the night before you plan to make mimosas for a delightfully chilly, sparkling cocktail.

Recipe Mimosa

Method -:

Pour the Champagne into the flutes, nearly halfway filling each glass then add orange juice on top to fill each glass. Basically use a 50/50 combination of dry sparkling wine and orange juice, but taste and adjust to preference. If you want a less alcoholic drink, use 2 parts sparkling wine with 1 part orange juice.

Recipe Tips

  • Get the champagne flutes ready. Because champagne flutes are made to conserve carbonation, they will make your beverages even more sparkly. If you don't have any, wine glasses are a good substitute.

  • Your glasses should be chilled. You don't want to use ice since it will cause the drink to flatten out faster. Chill your glasses, as well as the sparkling wine and orange juice, ahead of time if you want your mimosa to be particularly chilly.

  • Leave the pulp out. A pulpy mimosa is a no-no! Choose pulp-free orange juice for smooth, bubbly drinks. If you want to squeeze your own, do it ahead of time and strain it. Then chill it before making your cocktails.

  • Mix things up a little. Feel free to experiment with this mimosa recipe because it is simple and adaptable. Substitute blood orange juice for ordinary orange juice, or use a different fresh fruit juice entirely. Cranberry juice, apple cider vinegar, grapefruit juice, or pomegranate juice are all good options. For a greater orange taste, a dash of orange liqueur, such as Grand Marnier, could be added.

Mimosa Drink

This traditional brunch Mimosa drink goes great with eggs benedict or your favourite omelette.

If you go out to brunch, you can't avoid seeing or ordering a Mimosa. Many people like a refreshing mixture made up of only two ingredients on a Sunday morning. There are even brunch restaurants that will give you one for free or provide you with bottomless mimosas.

Mimosa Drink Meaning

There are two different origins of the champagne and orange blend. The Buck's Fizz was created in 1921 at London's Buck's Club. It was a champagne and orange juice cocktail similar to the Mimosa, but with more sparkling wine or champagne. Orange juice and champagne are mixed in equal portions in a Mimosa. The mimosa is thought to have been invented by a bartender at the Ritz Hotel in Paris around 1925.

According to one tale, director Alfred Hitchcock created the popular cocktail in San Francisco in the 1940s. According to the Oxford Companion to American Food and Cocktail, it was Hitchcock who popularised the Mimosa as a brunch drink in the United States.

Regardless matter which version is correct, millions of people will always choose a Mimosa for brunch.
