The Crazy Cock Madhuca Series is crafted at South Seas Distilleries in Dahanu, Maharashtra, a distillery with a century-long commitment to whisky making and India’s largest copper pot stills collection. Each whisky in the Madhuca range begins maturation in selected oak casks before being finished in barrels seasoned with Mahua flower spirit. It is an indigenous distillate historically significant across central India, creating a world-first finishing method that draws deeply from Indian distilling heritage.

The Crazy Cock Madhuca Series comprises three distinct expressions, each showcasing the influence of Mahura cask finishing on Indian single malt whisky. Madhuca I typically offers layers of warmth and depth drawn from ex-Brandy and ex-Bourbon casks along with fruity notes. Madhuca II may present apricot and vanilla sweetness from ex-Bourbon and ex-Wine casks. Finally, Madhuca III often delivers balanced fruit and spice character from classic Bourbon ageing, all rounded with floral and spice notes from the Mahua finish, resulting in a harmonious and aromatic profile.

A richer, more opulent expression built around Crazy Cock Madhuca Single Malt, celebrating its mahua-cask warmth, ripe stone-fruit sweetness, creamy vanilla, and gentle spice. This cocktail is designed to feel indulgent yet perfectly balanced, letting the whisky’s exotic character shine.
Ingredients:
60 ml Crazy Cock Madhuca Single Malt
15 ml apricot purée
7.5 ml saffron honey syrup
2 dashes aromatic bitters
Dehydrated apricot slice
Edible gold leaf
Instructions:
Chill a cut-crystal coupe glass until frosted.
Add the whisky, apricot purée, saffron honey syrup, and aromatic bitters to a mixing glass filled with large ice cubes.
Stir gently for 25–30 seconds until the drink becomes silky and well chilled.
Double strain into the chilled coupe glass.
Garnish with a dehydrated apricot slice and a delicate touch of edible gold leaf.
