According to history, the Pia Colada was created in 1952 by Ramon Marrero Perez, the chief bartender of the Caribe Hilton in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. Perez had crafted a masterpiece, and the tropical beverage has been relished in the sunshine for decades, making its way to American beaches and exotic islands.
However, around the 1970s, when bartenders began making Pina Coladas with cheap, bottled mixers and serving them in ridiculously enormous glasses, the quality degraded.
Some people also used shaker tins instead of the conventional blender to make a lighter, less icy cocktail.

Rum For Pina Colada
Bacardi Superior is the company's flagship rum, having been introduced in 1862. Don Facundo Bacardi, the founder of Bacardi, bought the site in Cuba that would become the distillery that revolutionised the way the world consumed rum. Bacardi produced Bacardi white rum, which established the benchmark for flavour and balance, by pioneering charcoal filtering and intentional ageing. It wasn't without its difficulties, though. Bacardi was driven out of Cuba by the Cuban Revolution, and the Cathedral of Rum is now located in Puerto Rico. It retains all of the distillation procedures that have made it the world's most popular rum brand and the drink that every rapper and pop star appears to consider the perfect party companion. The highest-quality ingredients, like as sugar cane and yeasts found exclusively in the Caribbean, give rum its distinct tastes.
In 1878, the Arechabala family established a rum-making company in Cuba. The Havana Club trademark was originally registered in 1934. Havana Club soon became a popular and iconic Cuban brand because to its well-rounded flavour with notes of tropical fruits and undertones of vanilla and oak. The Havana Club Anejo Blanco is produced and matured for one year in oak barrels in Puerto Rico under the Caribbean sun. The matured rums are then mixed together and aged for at least another two months in oak barrels. The result is a medium-bodied matured white rum with pineapple, banana, vanilla, and wood aromas and hints.
